Launching a 5 year project: Carbon Champions

Launching a sequel
We were inundated with feedback on our ‘Shaping Zero’ campaign. We decided as a result to work with the ICE to launch an unprecedented 5 year plan setting out new priorities for the ICE’s global membership. At the forefront of this was a new programme of work entitled ‘The Big Questions’.
The earth is warming
The purpose of the programme was to answer the big questions that require immediate answers and to announce ICE’s agenda for COP26. Wind & Foster were also tasked with launching the ICE’s Carbon Champion program, which profiles civil engineering projects for their exceptional carbon reduction initiatives.
Communicating a complex story
It’s shocking to realise that around 70% of the world's carbon emissions can be traced back to infrastructure. Not only through the impact of the build processes but the fact that these structures enable long-term behaviours that are hard-wired to carbon.
Watch the final film
Since working on this project, we’ve been approached by many civil engineers who told us they were relieved and excited that sustainability was finally being taken seriously. In 2021, we helped a major institution commit to real, meaningful climate action.
Record breaking engagement
The campaign shattered all ICE event records. The live Shaping Zero address and the recorded versions were viewed over 6,000 times in one day. We had the most incredible feedback on the film and its core messages and were literally overcome with positive feedback. The campaign was a success!
