Moving Barcelona is a narrative artwork exploring the need for systems change. Inspired by Invisible Cities, it explores the unseen forces shaping urban life.
Redefining systems change
More must be done to confront our struggle to change in a world that refuses to stop. In this film, we’ve tried to capture a hard truth: despite growing urgency, we keep moving forward, trapped in systems that resist change and leave us feeling powerless.
Continuing the Moving Cities Legacy
The Moving Cities series reimagines public spaces as stages for change, using movement to expose how cities are accelerating beyond human and environmental limits. By bringing dance into daily life, the films invite us to see cities not just as systems, but as living places inhabited by living people.
Partnerships with purpose
Our Moving Cities work is fundamentally about exploring society’s transition out of entrenched systems. Our collaboration with Ideograma, IT Dansa, Generalitat de Catalunya, Barcelona Film Commission and Casa Batlló was vital in grounding this vision in Barcelona, embedding it in the city’s cultural and political realities.
